Edit: These Limited Time Offers Have Ended
American Express has raised the sign-up bonus up to 60,000 Skymiles on three of their travel rewards credit cards. These limited offers are ending June 30th, 2015. The offers are most likely going away early in the morning, so it’s best to apply no later than the 29th.
Remember, you can only receive the sign-up bonus once per lifetime on personal Amex credit cards. However, you can receive the bonus again on an Amex business card if your previous card has been closed for at least 12 months.
The Limited Time Amex Delta Offers
The personal Gold Delta and Gold Delta SkyMiles® Business Credit Card from American Express have a limited time offer of 50,000 Skymiles after making $2,000 in purchases in the first 3 months. Plus, an additional $50 statement credit if you make an eligible Delta purchase in the same time period. The $95 annual fee is waived for the first year.
I really like the low minimum spending requirements, and a 50,000 Skymiles bonus isn’t too shabby. The Gold Delta cards also give you some interesting perks when you travel on Delta. For example, you can get a free checked bag for up to 9 passengers! That’s kinda ridic. You also receive Zone 1 priority boarding.
Other perks of the Delta Gold cards are: 2x miles on Delta purchases, smart chip technology, no foreign transaction fees, and a 20% discount on in-flight purchases.

The personal Platinum Gold Delta airlines card from American Express has a limited time offer of 60,000 Skymiles & 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months. You will also receive a $100 statement credit after an eligible Delta purchase is made in the same time period. That covers half of the $195 annual fee that isn’t waived.
A 60,000 mile bonus is pretty nice for a $2k spending requirement, but the annual fee isn’t waived for the first year. That said, the 10k MQM miles and $100 statement credit help with that.
Other perks of the personal Platinum card include: priority boarding, anniversary domestic main cabin round-trip companion ticket, 2x miles on Delta purchases, smart chip technology, and no foreign transaction fees.
Wrap Up
Delta Skymiles isn’t a program that I focus on primarily, but you can still use Skymiles to travel the world, and in style. And with Chase tightening the application rules on the Sapphire Preferred, Ink, and Freedom, it’s more important than ever to diversify your miles.
The limited time offers on the Delta airlines credit cards expire on June 30th, 2015. If they are right for you, the application links are below.
